I haven't been to an ER in over 15 years. I was quite ill. I'm not the type to go to the ER unless I feel like I'm dying or traumatic injury etc. I wasn't quite sure which ER to go to but as a retired nurse I knew which ones I did not want to go to. So I just went with my gut and went to Pineville ER. I'm really glad I did. Triage was great. They realized my condition was serious and followed protocol. Dr.Ambrose was thorough, smart, and kind. I recently (January 4, 2026) went to Atrium Health Pineville Matthew's Emergency Room. I had been sick with upper respiratory illnes since Thankgiving 2025. I have been to 6 visits to urgent care and 1 visit to Primary doctor and had no success in treating my illness. I went to ER and had a great experience with nursing staff and my attending doctor, Doctor Dominic John Nicacio, M.D. we're amazing. This facility was once our go-to location for emergency medical care, and we had always been pleased with the treatment provided. Unfortunately, our most recent experiences have been deeply disappointing and concerning, to the point that we will never return. During my husband’s first visit, he experienced a rapid clinical decline and nearly fainted.
