I agree with Karen Shaw’s review. There are some good trauma doctors and the physical therapy department was good. But the nursing staff/tech staff are awful. I would never leave a loved one by themselves at this hospital. You can ring the nurses button and you could have a loved one go down to the nurses station, and it may be three hours before somebody will walk into the room to see what the need is. A doctor might order a breathing treatment and tell you they will be in within 30 minutes. But six hours later they walk in... read more

I've met some fantastic doctors, some are at this hospital, including Dr. Roe and his neurosurgical team. And I've noticed there has been some positive changes in how patients are treated there, however, this hospital still is lacking in empathy and understanding that people walking in the er are actually asking for help. I've been dealing with months, close to a year now of having lab work that is always slightly off, but nobody is raising the alarm bells except me. I went to Atrium Health for a severe anaphylactic reaction and nearly lost my life due to their actions. I was given an overdose of medication that caused psychosis, delirium, and severe physical distress. Care was substandard, physicians were arrogant, and concerns were dismissed with excuses instead of accountability.
