Atrium ambulance service came out to transport my 86 year old mother to the ER. She walks on a walker and we have 17 steps from our front door to the driveway. The the older male paramedic stated they would carry her to the ambulance. I questioned them using the chair or a sheet that has been used in the past. He dismissed me an said they could carry her. I called 911 because my wife was attacked by a dog. When I talked to the call taker, she took basic information neglecting to get my name, my wife’s information or a call back number. After 20 minutes of no ambulance I called back for an ETA and I was told they were trying to reach me to get more information. When I asked how she was supposed to contact me she gave me a story she needed more information. The problem here is she lied to me and never answered my question about where the ambulance was. Took my father here because he thought he was having a heart attack. Instead of immediately getting help for him, they wanted him to go through security and registration. I understand the importance of hospital safety but he was seconds away from going unconscious. No sense of urgency whatsoever. Do not go here if your life is truly in danger.
