I called 911 and assumed that the EMT's who arrived were from the town First Aid Squad. I found out, when I got a bill for over $3000, that they were from this private company; at no time had they identified themselves. The Atlantic EMT's were kind and efficient and convinced me to go to the hospital. They indicated to another two people who had shown up that they should take me to St. Barnabas. I found out later that the drivers were sent by the hospital, and my Aetna Medicare plan covered that fee. However, I was informed ... read more
When calling 911, people do not have the option of figuring out what is considered "In Network" with insurance. AAC was unwilling to work with insurance. Knowing the situation, AAC threw me into collections, before even a year went by. Now I'm stuck with a 1K bill, since UHC Oxford is so difficult as well.
I would give negative reviews if I could. The billing department has no idea what insurance they take. After receiving a bill, we spoke with our insurance and they confirmed that it was paid in full. The insurance agent spoke with someone at the ambulance company and told them. We reveived another bill and our insurance called them once again to tell them that it was paid in full. Today we received yet another bill. They are trying to swindle you out of your money. AVOID this company if you can.
This Ambulance Service is a ripoff and a complete scam. They came to the house because our carbon monoxide detectors were going off for the entire night so the next day I called the fire department and asked them to please check my home for carbon monoxide. They said they had to be dispatched so I called the police department and explained the situation and they sent the fire department. An ambulance came with them and after the firemen checked the house and said that there was no carbon monoxide in the building. The EMT ask... read more
We should have zero stars. Dad's nursing home arranged for transport several times over the years and they use Atlantic. Atlantic refuses to take insurance info over the phone and will only accept it in writing. No matter how many letters you write, they refuse to bill insurance or provide appropriate documents so you can bill on their behalf. Their solution is to involve a collection agency to harass the family. When they decide to bill correctly primary/secondary, they get paid 100%. On 2 service dates, they just refuse to... read more
