Note: This review is completed by Jim Spurr and is regarding my experience. This is my third experience with Athlete's Care and the first at the Etobicoke location. I had been experiencing what I thought was hip soreness as a result of regular group exercise classes. Sarah properly diagnosed my issue correctly as being one of glute soreness, not hip. Over the last month and a half, she has recommended some very effective exercises to ease the pain as well as greatly help me modify my group-ex routines so as to lessen the imp... read more
Every specialist I’ve met at this centre—whether the sports doctor, physiotherapist, or massage therapists—has been friendly, knowledgeable, and highly skilled. Cheers to Ushwin, whose skill is barely distinguishable from magic.
Tina has been my physio for close to 8 months now, and during that period of time she has constantly been adapting her exercises to my progression and my state of mind of the day. I've been able to progress very fast because of the care and the investment she took in me. She is also remarkably gifted at finding exercises that one can do at home, without access to a gym. Saw a physiotherapist here for 8 months and my peroneal tendonitis got worse during that time. My physiotherapist was not listening to me when I was telling her I was experiencing pain with every step, but she continued to push me on to running. She also discouraged me from getting custom orthotics until she was done working with me despite having diagnosed we with a leg length discrepancy. I stopped going here a month or two ago and finally got my orthotics, which have helped me more than the exercises given ever did.
I went to Athlete's Care for various issues over the last few months, and Prateek was amazing in helping me fix all of the issues I had. He used different methods to ensure I could be back working out in no time. I am extremely grateful for the help I received from Prateek, if it wasn't for him I would not be able to compete in a Hyrox competition.. I cannot thank him enough!
