My 10 week old lab who just came home with me had his first vet appt here. It was traumatizing for both of us. Dr. Corbett didn't bother to greet either of us before picking my pup up by his collar, holding him down on the table by his neck, and trying to give his shots immediately. Let's just say my pup did NOT react well (wiggling, crying). We've been going to Animal Athens Hospital for years, and last night was a nice reminder why we've chosen them for the past 25 years. Last night, about 20 minutes before closing, my chocolate lab got into a tussle with my brand new puppy golden retriever who had just been seen at the hospital for his 10 week shots. He had some bloodshed and a big goose egg above his eye so I rushed him over to the vet without calling. 2 months ago my daughter took the family dog here, she had a bump on her head and eyes were swollen. The vet insinuated someone abused her!! Yesterday she was taken again for the same thing and they tell my daughter she has a brain tumor that has grown significantly since she was there 2 months ago!!! Hmm never said anything about the tumor then.. just made accusations that she was abused.... really??? have no faith in this place..
DR. HAMILTON AND DR. CHRISTIANSEN (sorry if spelled wrong) are FABULOUS! I recommend requesting appointments with them.
Rosie and I just got back from our first visit with Dr. Hamilton and I was impressed. Excellent care. The Dr. took her time with Rosie and fully explained everything with kindness. Answering all my questions without making me feel rushed. The staff was friendly and gentle. Also FINALLY a vet that doesnt charge you for unnecessary costs or fees!!!! Thank you Athens Animal Hospital!!!!!
I have had nothing but great experiences. Here the staff are wonderful with my babies.
Gave my kittens shots they didn't need. Denied them the shots they did need. Tried to overcharge me when I left. Wanted me back three weeks later for more shots they didn't need. Vet was rushed and not friendly at all.
