I saw my GP in early November 2024 and weighed in at 246lbs. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos and put on thyroid meds. A month later I saw Dr Smyrlis as a precaution and weighed in at 240lbs. Dr. Smyrlis is a kind, caring and compassionate physician. Not only am I grateful to him for providing me with life saving care but he is also a dedicated doctor who listens to his patients and is always ready with helpful advice. He is always quick to respond if I need to contact him.Â

Dr. Smyrlis saved my life! On June 26, 2018, I was scheduled for a routine hip surgery at South Nassau/Mount Sinai Hospital. It was a day I’ll never forget. During the surgery, a blood clot formed in my hip and traveled to my heart (DVT), causing a massive heart attack. Dr. Smyrlis, who wasn’t scheduled to be in the room that day, immediately sprang into action. He coordinated approximately 15 nurses And surgical staff to perform CPR while I was in cardiac arrest. I can’t say enough kind words to about Dr. Smyrlis, because of him my daughter still has a father and I still have a husband. I first spoke with him on the phone moments after he saved him and he put my mind at ease that the worst part was past us. For the next two days he was there checking on him. The day after we left, he checked up again and I had questions and concerns and he answered them with no issues. I would recommend him a thousand times over. Thank you we are blessed we found you.Â
