Dr. Smyrlis saved my life. In July 2022 I experienced a "widowmaker" heart attack caused by a complete blockage of the left anterior descending artery. Fortunately for me Dr. Smyrlis was on duty early in the morning, because he literally saved my life. Over the course of the last few years he has taken my entire health, not just cardiovascular health, into account during our semi-annual visits. Dr. Smyrlis saved my life! On June 26, 2018, I was scheduled for a routine hip surgery at South Nassau/Mount Sinai Hospital. It was a day I’ll never forget. During the surgery, a blood clot formed in my hip and traveled to my heart (DVT), causing a massive heart attack.
