We spent 2 weeks at The Monrose Apartments with Astra Apartments. We were greeted at the apartment at 11.15pm due to our late flight arrival & shown around the apartment & issued with keys.The personal touch was impressive & much appreciated. The apartment had everything we needed for our stay & was really well positioned to catch the metro into the CBD etc. Any query we had was dealt with immediately. I’ll never book again and will recommend no one else to book it either. It reaches the bare minimum requirements of a backpacker hostel. At least those give you toilet paper. I really don’t understand why this would be listed in any company portal. It sucks and is very bad. It is dusty, lighting is very bad (dentist style white bright lights), beds are terrible and dusty, there is no soap or toiletries. I’m asked to clean my room before leaving? As per other reviews I’m reading, these apartments are severely lacking in basic amenities. EXPECT TO BUY YOUR OWN TOILET PAPER! That’s right, at $300 a night, totalling a $3,000 10 x night business stay, you can expect to need to purchase your own basic necessities. I reported we needed more toilet paper at 2pm during business hours. Management responded to me that the clean was Saturday and that is all they provide. Good location, next to business district ensures steady flow of corporate bookings, but this practice must be stopped. These guys are hostile to their tenants, and if you care a little about for whom you are booking this - please look elsewhere. Inhumane and greedy people. If you came a bit earlier to check in - be sure you will sit on the bench outside at the street, people walking by, with all your bags up until 2PM check-in time. They will see you sleeping on your bags outside but never approach until it is 2:00 PM sharp.... read more

Be weary when using Astra Apartments - the apartment(s) may not be actually owned by the registered business name. Moreover, they can be leased under a standard NSW Residential Tenancy Agreement from an apartment owner and then 'sub leased' to a third party (i.e. people booking short term stays). This can be in in breach of the original NSW Residential Tenancy Agreement and the By-Laws pertaining to the property. Be aware and ask questions.
