I’d recommend aster springs for anyone in need of eating disorder treatment! I’d done their PHP for a few weeks before stopping for the holidays, but in that time I made valuable connections and lots of progress, specifically with RCS Joanna. When it was decided I really needed residential a couple months later, Joanna was there supporting me through the transition. I completed residential treatment for the second time this past February–March at Aster Springs Virginia. Coming back into treatment, I was extremely nervous and in a very low place in my eating disorder, but from the moment I arrived, the staff welcomed me with open arms and made me feel safe and supported. EDIT/UPDATE: Had such a great time, I went back for another 8ish weeks! Everything I've already said still stands but wanted to give Ashley, now running the alumni program, a shout out! Jess left her big shoes to fill when he moved on over to bigger and better things and she really hit the ground running. The twice weekly groups have been a great source of connection and support for me in my recovery. Ashley is very approachable and laid back while still (gently) challenging ED thoughts.
