To put it bluntly— They are HARMING patients by preventing them from getting the care they need with their unprofessionalism. I had a horrible and frankly unprofessional intake experience. Do NOT waste your time going through the intake process if you have any sort of medical issues (i.e POTS) outside of the eating disorder whatsoever. While I have multiple chronic illnesses, I would not consider myself so medically complex that a medical facility such as this could not take me. Continued on... * Again, the staffing is a huge issue- they have one staff member per 8 clients. They claim this is a low ratio on their website but there is nuance to this claim. This staff is often not properly trained, observably unsupported direct support staff member. Often there is just one Tech/direct support for the whole house, so if there’s any sort of crisis or issue, the staff and the clients are in for a very tough time. Unfortunately, I cannot in good faith recommend that anyone attends Aster Springs for treatment. This facility is not properly equipped to take care of adults with eating disorders. My sister can ever a year ago and is still strong in her recovery. She still talks about the people who work there who helped her get to the place where she is now. The work they do here is above and beyond every other facility! Thank you Aster!
