Someone cashed a fake check into my checking account through the ATM back in November 2019 after losing my wallet and I have been trying to dispute these charges to my account. I have reached out to the investigator via email and phone and have never been contacted back. Now I am responsible for paying the collection agency almost $2,000. I am so stressed out about this and angry!

Terrible bank. Had a car loan through them after they bought out my original bank. After years of making on time payments I finally got to my last one and called in to make this final payment like I had for all of my other payments and was told I could not make a payment this way and would have to send in a check to a PO Box. I applied for a home refinance loan with Associated Bank in September and was supposed to close today, 11/13/19 at 2PM. My loan officer called me yesterday and indicated that closing costs/fees had increased by over 4 times from what my loan documents indicated when my loan was approved on 10/14/19 originally and then again when I received the new "approved" loan commitment letter along with the loan disclosure statement on 11/9/19. If they buy your bank, they will sneak hidden charges into anything you do. They will not work with you, they will accuse you of lying and they will lie straight to your face. If you bank with these guys you are signing up to be robbed blind with their stupid surcharges and hidden fees, Rest assured this company does not care for you, nor do they care about you. I would give this bank, especially its investment portion a negative star if I could. Worst experience ever. The investment "professionals" were very unprofessional and withdrew more money out of my investment account that I authorized and I was told that every one makes mistakes. If you have to deal with them for any reason stay away from Mike and Tim, they are rude and blame everything on you for miscommunication, even when it is clear. Most horrible bank I ever delt with. They wait to send transactions through until your account is close to zero. They will charge excessive OD charges in a sketchy way, even if you arrive same day with a deposit to cover , they will process largest transactions first to get as many OD charges as they can. They also hold your deposits and then send transaction through to add more charges. They will charge you two fees at a ATM that does not belong to them as well in the realm of 8 dollars a withdrawal. I have dealt with Associated Bank (Columbus, WI) one time. I brought in a legal power of attorney given to me by my wife. I was told over the phone that if I had POA, I could do the paper work for cashing out her IRA at the bank. The person I met with there decided that the banking section of the POA did not specifically mention IRAs and that I couldn't sign the papers. The bank's legal department agreed with her. So I get hit with about $180 with of fraudulent charges. I email right away about them. Then I get a box of items I did not purchase that match one of the fraud charges. The box was not addressed to me. I immediately call again to say "hey this box showed up". I was told to "hold on to it". BIG MISTAKE. As a small business owner with business checking, I received a letter stating that my account was being closed as their policy is that they can close your account for ANY reason. On all levels, they refused to give me a reason. I was even told that no one would give me a reason regardless of their position. My account has always been in good standing and there is no reason why my account was closed.
