Updated below: After my husband’s stroke we reached out to Assisting Hands of Fremont due to their affiliation with the VA. Within 6 weeks, our caregiver had stolen thousands of dollars from us. She used his ATM card to withdraw $4000, used several credit cards, as well as bank account info to send herself money via Zelle. We filed a police report immediately after discovering the fraudulent transactions and she has been charged with 3 separate felonies for elder financial abuse.
