My aunt had the eggplant Ratoullie (sp?) and it came with fresh, melted mozzarella slices on top MMMM... and I ordered the special which was mushroom ravioli with a marsala wine sauce. It was divine. Authentic NY Pizza and wonderful Italian food! – Growing up in Philly and NY and having lived in the heart of Soprano-land north Jersey, we struggled when we first arrived in Raleigh to find a true taste of home...we found it at Assaggio's. User review by xiaoding – The pizza is ok, as long as it is warm. As it cools, the overwhelming use of parmisian makes it inedible. The sauce is mediocre at best. Pity folks who think this is good pizza! Perhaps it is the best is Raleigh..because pizza in Raleigh blows. This is mediocre at best.
Look. – I don't think you can make Italian food worse than this. They managed to make sub-par Baked Ziti. Do you know how HARD it is to mess up Ziti? Anyway, I digress. The baked ziti was my first attempt to eat their food. It came out tasting very bland, and was a very large disappointment. I tried again a few weeks later with a stromboli. Again, disappointment. Great Fast Italian Food – A wonderful find! If you love authentic Italian food at a reasonable price, then this is the place for you. The service is quick and the atmosphere cozy. We always have a delicious meal that doesn't break the budget. Be sure to check out the deli and pasta-to-go section also!
Always Great Experience – As someone just out of college i have eaten my share pizza and Italian food. As a professional chef I have prepared my share of Italian food as well, and I always love eating at Assagios. It is not fast food. It is not Papa John's, Ragazzi's, or any other chain. BEST PIZZA IN RALEIGH! – I cannot believe that someone gave a bad review because they ordered pizza by the slice and the slices were not fresh. What do they expect--for the restaurant to make a fresh pizza and cut their two slices and throw the rest away? Wonderful pizza and specials! – The BEST NY pizza in Raleigh - period. Don't order the slices and expect a miracle ... they are warmed up slices. Order the whole pie and enjoy! Also, we have never been disappointed by their dinner specials - always a treat.
Simply put--the best pizza in Raleigh – I took my family there for pizza night and everyone loved the pizza. The owner came over to talk to us and made sure our experience was pleasant. My teenage daughter said she couldn't wait to tell her friends. Worth it!
