Meat on a Stick Askew grills chicken, pork, beef, lamb, tofu, and vegetables and serves them on skewers over your choice of starch or salad. It's the perfect menu for very picky eaters because you can choose the combination, for instance a spinach salad or garlic mashed potatoes. Portions are large and the wait isn't too bad depending when you are dining.

Local Food-Court Goodness This takes the idea of meat on a stick to a whole new level. You go in, pick the meat (or tofu), pick the style, and the starch that it will be served on. There's a selection of beef, lamb, chicken, shrimp, tofu, and vegetables, which can be grilled with a variety of sauces and spices (including barbecue, teriyaki, and Thai). These kebabs will then be served over garlic mashed potatoes, couscous, rice, etc. Just about everything I've had is quite good. They also make perfect root-beer floats.

Expensive meats on a stick While this place's decor reminds me of my Southern California roots, I feel that they tried a little too hard combining foods and spices from different backgrounds. The meat is tender, and the spices are strong (which is good), but I think the restaurant just lacks authenticity that I prefer, especially in a diverse place like California.

Just Don't. While I am always, always pleased to at least see some vegetarian options on the menu of any restaurant, especially a "grill" meaty place, our exerience at Asqew was just...wrong. We placed an order for marinated tofu and veggie kebabs over garlic mashed potatos. I had dined here before and they were fine. This time one order came with a single chunk of meat hidden among the tofu. Like some kind of joke. We bravely spat into our napkin and asked the manager for a replacement order without meat. It came and this t... read more

Oh no. Pleasant and friendly service was let down by a light-hearted approach to food preparation. They brought the wrong order twice, and when we gave up and asked for our money back, gave us a voucher for a free meal. This meant that we came and went without successfully eating anything, never good in a "restaurant". Rather than go here again I would eat my own liver. If you utterly don't care what you are eating or what it tastes like, this could be the place for you.
