The Aspen on Hall is Terrible!!!!! – I'm was completely disgusted by the staff. First of all a hostess never greeted or sat us and there was no excuse considering the place was empty. The waitresses in the bar area were so floozy I had to move my family to the dinning area. If I wanted to see that much cleavage I would have gone somewhere else! Our waiter was fine it was a little annoying the way he kept trying to sell me more than I wanted. The most annoying part of the entire evening however, was the manager Donna!!! We ba... read more
Best Wings and Beer – Ok, the secret to the Aspen is to go on a night when there is a detroit sporting event. $3 pitchers and 25 cent wings! Amazing!!!!
Amazing food, and even better service... I have a new favorite restaurant – When I took my family to the Aspen, I honestly didn't think there would be anything different between them and other restaurants in the area, with their get in and get out attitudes. But The Aspen was truly different. My server Brandi went above and beyond what I would ever expect a server to do. She was GREAT with my children, which meant a lot to me! I will defiantly request her again. From the numerous times that I have been there now over the pas... read more
Overcrowded - TERRIBLE FOOD - Prices are out of line for the quality – We will NEVER return. Our visit came on our 14th Anniversary. We wanted to try the Aspen as we had heard someone mention it and had seen it from the road before. Also, we had an Entertainment coupon, so we figured it would be a good deal. Boy - were we wrong. We arrived - only to find out that there was a Wine Tasting event going on - and it was COMPLETELY overbooked. A manager mentioned they were expecting 120 people and had over 200. Weren't they workin... read more
Excellent Cedar Plank Salmon with Pumpkin Seed – Very good service experience. The Salmon on the Cedar Plank stays warm and moist. Hot tasty bread comes with your meal. If you get the salad be sure to try the raspberry balsamic vinegar dressing, it's made fresh. We ordered 4 containers of the dressing to take home. It's really delicious.
Avoid if you want to Breath fresh air – Aspen on Hall serves up very taste food, and generous portions to boot. The service was fantastic, with the waitress coming around quite a few times to check on us. Also, there was another employeee going around checking how things were going also. BUT... One BIG Problem..... as soon as my friend and I got into the restaurant, I noticed the foul smell of cigarette smoke. We asked to be seated in the non smoking area, but the offensive and nauseating smell seemed to get a lot worse duri... read more
Schuss on down to Aspen for great eats/good times! – Visiting back home from California & 'jones-ing' for some fresh perch when an old high school chum suggested 'Aspen'. What a find! Not only was the perch sumptuous but the shrimp and calamari appetizers were divine! We chose to dine in the 'lounge' where they're ready for the World Series on their big screen (heads up, sports lovers) but I noticed the intimate rustic 'ski-lodge' like main Dining Room reminded me of Lake Tahoe in the winter...coool! Saw an advertisement tou... read more
Wanted to like this restaurant – I really wanted to like this restaurant, however one who is "somewhat" into nutrition found nothing on the menu. I love fish and ordered pickeral and it was thickly coated .......believe me I not overly fussy however my neighbor totally agreed with me about the food. In regards to the service I had my salad and entree served at the same time. Needless to say, I usually give restaurants two tries before I eliminate it. For this restaurant to succeed it needs a far better menu.
Dine on quality American cuisine in a warm, log-cabin atmosphere. – In Short The decor features rustic wood finishes and ski lodge-style ambience. The menu is high-end, but simple. The Aspen Classic, a 1/2-pound steak burger, is a popular choice. The fresh lake perch is pan-fried in a mild, golden-brown batter. The eight-ounce filet, thick and tender, is seasoned with a combination of herbs and spices for a powerful flavor.
