I recently moved out of The Collective at Columbia, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. When I first moved in, the apartment smelled strongly of smoke. It was a hassle to get an ozone machine brought in, and even after that, the smell lingered the entire time I lived there. All of my clothing, my backpack—everything absorbed the odor. DO NOT LIVE HERE: The pool finally had its locks off for Memorial weekend, so we went, only to learn how poorly managed it was: murky water, blue paint from the pool that got all over your body, swim suit, etc. Come to learn next week that the pool wasn’t “open,” even though there were no more locks, it was memorial weekend, & all other pools had opened. Do not live here. You can do better. I lived here because I took a sublease from someone. Firstly, the houses- They look pretty on the outside and try to cater to a modern, minimalist, "clean" aesthetic but the property and furniture is actually old and cheap. The flooring in each of the units is cold, hard concrete that never looks or stays clean no matter what you do. The carpet is stained and old.
