I knew I needed a new HVAC system sooner or later once we closed escrow, but I did not know it was only a matter of time until the furnace pipes would be over stressed and begin pumping carbon monoxide into the house. Had a routine bi-annual cooling systems inspection yesterday and chose to have Mustafa install an after market UVC air purification solution by Field Controls and it appears we over paid for the parts and labor. Ref: UV-14.5FM
The problem was solved very quickly. The service tech was very pleasant
Supposed to be an HVAC tune-up, with "Clean condenser coil" listed as one of the parts. Guy says that'll be $1100. Then wants to charge me $1050 to replace two capacitors (each one costs like $50 bucks and will take fifteen minutes to swap), before trying to upsell me on almost $10k in ridiculous "upgrades." Said things that were also just patently incorrect -- like adding radiant barrier with no airspace will help insulate, or that a UV bulb will somehow reduce contaminants in the air by 93% (sure, UV kills stuff in the air... read more
