They were initially helpful when I was first moving in but near the end of my lease there was a major communication breakdown. The agency failed to explain to me why I wasn't being allowed to renew my lease after it had already been offered despite the fact they knew nearly 2 weeks prior to me hearing it from the landlord directly (the reason being the landlord chose to move back in). I have lived in an apartment managed by ARA since Dec. 3, 2025 (1 1/2 months). Maintenance requests sent through their portal were denied and phone calls/emails were not bringing completion to the maintenance issues, even with a week between requests as a NC tenant guide suggests. After I sent written notice through the post office with return receipt requested, several key repairs were made, yet a faucet continues dripping at a rate of almost 4 gallons of water per week. This company has refused to return my deposit, claiming that there was cat hair and urine on all surfaces. I left the apartment immaculate, so this is absolutely ludicrous. Two of my friends helped me to move and we cleaned all surfaces, oven, baseboards, mopped, swept, you name it we cleaned it. This is inexcusable and I will be filing suit. Beware before you rent an apartment from this company. They are hard to communicate with and will dodge your questions. I am highly disappointed in my experience with Ashe Rental Agency... read more
