This is a SCAM company. They call saying I'm being recorded & want to talk to me about the estate of someone I have no idea who they are. Like others have noted, it seems they find death records & just call random people in the area or maybe from social media sites who have the same last name hoping to trick someone. Hopefully people research them first so they don't get scammed.

This scam business uses the National Death Index to search death records and then run background checks to hunt down relatives of the decedent. My father-in-law passed away in March, and my mother-in-law (his Executor and sole beneficiary) has been very careful to exclude us from any type of inheritance and would never even think of blessing us financially. Ascension sent us - disinherited children of the decedent - a letter addressed to "The Estate of Bob Smith" which actually got my hopes up that maybe, just maybe, my moth... read more
