I recently had a CT Coronary exam at Ascension Texas Imaging on 32nd Street and was thoroughly impressed with the level of care. This specific exam can be difficult because your heart rate must be low enough to get a clear image, but the team was excellent at managing the process. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience here was deeply frustrating and disappointing. I’ve had fibroadenomas in both breasts for over 13 years and regularly get ultrasounds to monitor them. My doctor specifically ordered an ultrasound—not a mammogram—due to the pain I experience with mammograms, and this was clearly communicated. Well, so much for price transparency with Ascension Texas Imaging! When I scheduled my appointment for a mammogram and ultrasound, I asked how much I would have to pay for the visit. They told me they needed to check with my insurance company and that I should call back a few days prior to the visit, which I did. The lady I talked to told me that the billing department would call me back. I am still waiting for their call. On the day of the visit, I was asked to pay $292.42 up front, before the examination. I was scheduled for heart imaging. The scheduler for the Georgetown location called me to set up the appointment. In our conversation while asking questions, she confirmed they were having a special for the service I was needing and that she would schedule me for the soonest available appointment (3days). I arrived at 3:00pm for a 3:30 appt to find that they will not honor the price they quoted until the next day, however the next day would be on the weekend which they are not open.
