Stayed at the beautiful Women’s & Children’s Hospital for 3 days and 2 nights for my current stay 😆 As usual, the staff is impeccable. From the front desk, nurses, doctors, and everyone we encountered. But I was more impressed with those that went above and beyond: Ms. Geeta at the cafeteria register, and the two nice women (whose names I didn’t catch) at the salad bar / sandwich station. I can only describe my time on their labor and delivery floor as traumatic. I developed postpartum preeclampsia and was sent here for OB ER care. A short list of the horrible ways I was treated includes: 1. I was denied all pain management only 4 days after my cesarean, even as I was literally screaming in pain. 2. I was not allowed to breastfeed my newborn, who was mere inches from me as he was crying for food and I was crying from engorgement pain and the stress of seeing him cry and not being able to do anything about it.... read more

Being used to the very professional, welcoming and friendly front desk personnel at Alexian Brothers, I was quite surprised by the personnel at Ascension Saint Alexius Women's and Children's Hospital - Day Surgery front desk. The two front desk personnel were not friendly or welcoming and it was glaringly apparent from their chatter that their personal conversations were more important than attending to incoming patients and/or visitors.
