My wife and I were persuaded to put all of our checking and savings into Arvest bank last year. Our ATM card was COMPLETELY SHUT OFF over Superbowl weekend when I was 400 miles from home on business. I could not get gas, food, or another night in my hotel. I have banked at Arvest for 10 years, through my financial ups and downs. Today, without warning or notification, they placed a hold on a deposit that has caused several important items to be returned. In 10 years, I've never has a deposit return, and am on direct deposit from the same source as when I opened my account. The check I deposited was from my mother, from whom I've deposited checks in the past. I called the branch and was told there's nothing they can do.
