I went to Dr Montague for way overdue cataract surgery. Given Stanford Hospital’s reputation, I thought they were very innovative and are open to trying the latest approved treatment. However Dr. Montague played it very conservatively by only offering monofocal lens as a treatment. I asked if bifocal or multifocal were options but she affirmatively said no to either. Dr. Montague performed cataract surgery on both my eyes. My focal point is exactly where she said it would be. I was hesitant to not get laser cataract surgery but she assured me she could be as precise with a scalpel as a laser. Other doctors I visited insisted laser surgery was best and implied standard cataract removal would not yield good results. I had her implant toric lenses that require precise placement in the eye. Dr Montague did both of my cataract surgeries & no problems. Highly Recommend her & I drove over an hour for each visit to see her which I thought was well worth it when I hear the horror stories of other people with other Doctors.
