He began a private psychiatric practice in Mobile in 1984 upon his resignation from the United States Navy at the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Dr. Dumont truly cares. What I really appreciate is that he spends time with me, a minimum of 40 minutes. It’s such a breath of fresh air to have a doctor who listens and then treats. For the first time in years, my major depression is in remission and I am so thankful.
I have been to countless psychologist, counselors, therapist, psychiatrist, etc... for 21 yrs since my parents divorced during my adolescence. Dr. Dumont is an authentic Dr. He first gathers important information to help his deduction; experiences, family blood line, etc... Dr. Dumont has been my psychiatrist for about the last year. He is the best one I have ever had, and I have had a few. Ha. He is so understanding and down to earth. He actually just listens, and never pushes anything on his patients. He gives suggestions, but never demands, I have never ever had a doctor that I can call anytime, and actually get him on the phone, or a return phone call. I feel very lucky and blessed to have found him!!! His wife is absolutely wonderful as well!

I had been with Dr, DuMont for many years in Mobile and considered him the best psychiatrist I'd ever seen. When he moved to Gulf Shores I had to sadly to find another one (who was not as good). Now I drive all the way to Gulf Shores for my granddaughter to see Dr. DuMont. No one has been able to help her function as well as Dr.DuMont! His brilliant mind and expertise combined with his very personable personality make it a pleasure to enjoy his expert treatment of very severe difficulties.
I have been a patient of Dr Dumont's since 2006, after seeing many Dr and not receiving any lasting results Dr Dumont has had me on the right track to living a normal, healthy life. He makes his self available to his patients as if they were family. He's never farther than a phone call away. He has never turned me away, he has on many occasions but his personal life on hold to work around my needs and schedule. This Doctor is hands down the best Doctor I have ever seen.
