I love the Arboretum but was recently disappointed to again hear the news in today's paper about problems with unleashed dogs. This time two goats were injured. I'd think the Arb would realize by now that their signs aren't enough and they need to do significant proactive monitoring for off leash dogs. I've spoken to three owners with dogs off-leash and been yelled at by them. It's too bad as I've significantly reduced the time I spend there.
An urban oasis that is gloriously tourist free due to it's slightly remote location. Perfect place to go for a stroll, jog, or bike ride with your family, your dog, or a date. Stay on the paths or explore.
The labeling of the trees was excellent. Great maps, well maintained trails and the trees were breathtaking. The meadows in full bloom made one stop and take in the beauty.
I moved to Boston 9 years ago.... Within a week of living in the city, this became my sanctuary! I absolutely love it! I learn something new every visit.
Such a beautiful plane. My husband calls it "the perfect manicured forest"! It is so lovely and during the fall, the colors are amazing!

It's cool to see all the different trees they have assembled over there. Some of the trees that look the most exotic are often from areas not very far from our own, and conversely trees that look familiar are often from far away. Much like the others here said I think it's nice to be able to go to such a peaceful, quiet, and relaxing place so close to the city.
