I just moved out after living here for 3 years and want to give a detailed and fair review of my experience. The building is in a fairly safe and quiet location on the edge of suburbs with a few amenities (grocery store, shoppers drug mart, some restaurants, etc.) just a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive away. My kitchen and bathroom were renovated right before I moved in and overall it was pretty nice place for the price I was paying (1460 for a 1-bedroom with outdoor parking in 2019). I am about to become a tenant in this building. This will be my first home in Canada. So far everything has been great for me and we like this place. Some of the comments here really concern me. I just hope I have a different experience. As a newcomer, I would like to know what your advice is for me. Thank you
Laundry room very badly maintained. Bad smells Never responds to requests for repairs or maintenance. I have recently informed the landlord of my intention to leave the apartment and not renew the lease. Since then, I've been receiving unannounced visits. On two occasions, the guy in charge called me less than 5 minutes before showing up with people wishing to visit the unit. By expressing my dissatisfaction, I was mistreated and the guy's reaction was very misplaced. Delighted to be able to leave this place
