Applying for assistance through AHCCCS has been one of the most frustrating experiences. The system is extremely difficult to navigate, and getting help is nearly impossible. The staff in the office seem unwilling to answer calls or provide real support, it feels like no one cares about the people who are truly in need. Arizona makes it harder than it should be for families to access basic healthcare coverage, especially during pregnancy or other urgent times. The process is slow, unhelpful, and feels inhumane.
Very difficult to contact. Sometimes it says due to high call volume call back another time. Other times you are on hold for hours. I was on hold till after 5:00 and the phone line did not cut me off. Apparently it was going to keep me in the queue until the following day. PLEASE UPDATE YOUR PHONE SYSTEM!!!!!!
NO STARS!! None!!! I thought dealing with this in Illinois was the worst... This right here is whole new level, totally inhumane, degrading & heartless!! Jumped through every single hoop they asked for, at the end of this nightmare it came down to one more phone call for the Ok... No one Ever answers the phone!! It's truly like playing the Squid Game Netflix show..☹️Same!! Shame on all of you!
So over the past 9 years I have been covered by this insurance and I must admit that they treat me horribly. What a fiasco getting treatment is. I left the state in 2018 to get my medical straightened out and have been back 4 years now and these guys loose my records chronicly. They can't complete a form for a referral to a specialist. Getting a ride to a follow up appointment with my gastro doctor has been impossible for over a year now.
