Update: a couple of months after the refusal to refund my mom's deposit I received a call from the newest director of Acadia. I was told they wanted to refund the deposit. I was very happy they decided to correct the previous unethical business practice. I had hoped to move my mom to Acadia living when her current facility appeared to be unable to care for her anymore. I want to thank the outstanding staff at Arcadia Senior Living in Portland. On very short notice we needed to find a place for my sister and brother-in-law that could accommodate their needs. The Arcadia team, lead by Mercedes, did an outstanding job of helping us secure the perfect unit for them and when my sister needed to move in before their apartment was ready they had a solution. Arcadia is such an amazing community, from the staff to the residents, everyone is so sweet! Mercedes is such a talented coordinator who will learn your needs and wants and accommodate on your behalf! She ensures that all her residents are in the best care and room possible. She is so down to earth and truly a rare gem!
My mother has lived at Arcadia since Nov 2024 after living in her Portland home since 1955. She and the family have been very pleased with the friendliness, attention, and good care administered by the staff and management! It's impossible to single out just one team member who has been helpful as all have been! I had hoped to move my mom to Acadia living when her current facility appeared to be unable to care for her anymore. I met with staff and it first everything seemed fine.
