I took a workshop with Arbutus back in 2021. It was introduced to me by people who called it a “吃喝玩乐” kind of thing — casual, social, fun. In reality, it was a $100 teaser class whose main purpose was to upsell you on their $3,000 “master” course. The so-called “吃喝玩乐 crowd” turned out to be a mix of social parasites — 社会边缘人 trying to find connections or employment opportunities.
