I write this review with the sad knowledge that Ara is closing, but wanting others to know what it is that truly made the Ara Experience something special. As a plus size bride, I went to the other shops, I squeezed into dresses, I held dresses up in front of me to “imagine” what it could look like, and I was told “brides often lose weight with the stress of wedding planning”. I have had an amazing experience with ARA. I got my wedding dress made & my civil ceremony outfit tailored. The quality of the finish & the material is just amazing. Amazing attention to detail and I just felt looked after at every stage! I was told by 3 other Sydney wedding dress shops that 6 months would not be enough time to even buy a pre-made wedding dress. For someone who tends to like different elements of different dresses but rarely one dress in whole as it is I'm glad to have come across ARA for my wedding day with their modular format that can still be further customised to suit your preferences. I cannot even begin to describe how beautiful my dress was. The team at ARA Experience was incredible from start to finish, making what could have been a daunting process feel so special. They were helpful, professional, and kept me updated every step of the way with photos and transparent communication, which meant the world to me. I first met Penny when they did a Sydney trunk show. I had only just gotten engaged and Ara was the first dress experience I had. Fast forward a year later and I went into their Sydney store and immediately booked them in. The only 'difficult' part of the dress was me wanting the sleeves to be a particular way, but the team worked tirelessly to get it to the vision I wanted.
