The billing practices at Apria are questionable if not possibly illegal. They bill you for the full amount before your insurance even processes it and expects you to pay the whole thing. We pulled the EOB's and they say in process and Apria is driving you crazy ( calls, texts, paper bills) to pay the full amount, ( not the allowed amount) before its processed. This has got to be one of the most frustrating companies to work with ever. Every. Single. Time. you contact them, they need to confirm your name, DOB, address, email address, Dr's Name, date of the prescription, etc. etc. Most companies' are good with 2 or 3 pieces of info. Even if you somehow get to the wrong person, they won't tell you you're wrong until they've wasted 5 minutes of your life. Contacted by Apria staff shortly after Doctor Office called in the prescription order. Female staff was only interested in the charges, billing and fees…When I asked about the different models or fitting arrangements, she replied “we just ship the machines out and then we can arrange for a fitment afterwards”. Medical staff warned me about them doing exactly that! When I said I wanted to come in and see the different models, options and mask fitting. Why was my equipment returned in the middle of its delivery, you guys just didn't want to put the bill did you?
A hassle to work with and unprofessional. Their letters arrive when the time has expired to act upon it. You try to call to get questions answered and I get transferred to 2-3 different people with no resolution. They randomly send people to your house to pick up equipment without first scheduling, which is not only annoying to me but a waste of time to the person whose job it is. I am glad to not have to work with them after this.
