I spoke to someone from Apria Healthcare this morning in regards to a wheelchair being covered through my insurance. Apria will rent a wheelchair to me, through my insurance for 10 months, then convert it to a sale. My cost woul be $100/month. The wheelchair they will rent to me sells online for $500. The Apria rep tells me it is a $3,000 wheelchair. This is a manual wheelchair with mixed reviews, not a powered wheelchair. $3,000? Sure.
