This was absolutely the worst company I’ve ever dealt with in the whole medical profession. I have dealt with a lot. I needed a wheelchair. Sent the prescription by fax March 26. Talk to Columbus office and talk to the Lexington office twice. there are other companies that were willing to help me but I liked that Lexington Ohio was close to me. Big mistake on my part. Apria did an excellent job in helping process my prescription for a CPAP machine. I called Apria regarding my prescription and sent the sleep study report and prescription on a Thursday or Friday. They submitted my claim to my insurance and they approved it within 2 days (Saturday). I received a call that following Monday to schedule an appointment with their respiratory therapist and was able to get in the following day (Tuesday). My sleep lab MD placed an order for a CPAP machine with Apria. After not hearing anything for 2 months, my sleep lab said I needed to call Apria. I tried twice (Nov 9, Nov 20) - they did not return my calls. Each call, I waited 15 minutes on hold, then was referred to voice mail. The message stated they would return calls within 2 hours, or no later than noon the next business day. I gave them 11 days - think that should be enough? They don't care about the health and safety of their patients, just whether it makes financial sense. They are unwilling to allow insurance companies to buy CPAP machines but will sell them out-of-pocket on ApriaDirect.com.
