I have had software from AppSumo for several years now and have found them to be exrremely ethical and helpful. When things don't go to plan, their response is fantastic. For example, I bought a lifetime deal from a company who subsequently renegued on the deal and even though it was about 18 months later, AppSumo offered me a full refund in credits, which is way beyond their legal commitment of 60 days.
