Unit stopped cooling after 14 months........cannot find technician that will work on this closed system........the warranty isn't worth the paper it is printed on........Applied Comfort Technician and Warranty Administrator were nice, but were of no help whatsoever......
I did purchase a C42ED09K36E 2 months ago, the board is dead now but the warranty dept keeps sending me the dipswitch specs and tries to avoid sending the board under warranty after 3 nice requests. I have been specializing in PTACs for 37 years, but this new guy apparently wants to teach me something. Please avoid this company as mush as you can: here are better options, Genuine Comfort, Amana, G.E., Islandaire.
Purchased an Applied Comfort PTAC through AidCo in 2021 which must have been a lemon because it stopped functioning properly 13 months after purchasing. This is the third unit I’ve owned in my home and by far the worst one yet. Sadly I had not purchased extended warranty but did expect this unit to last longer than 13 months. Applied Comfort has not helped me other than to say it must have been installed wrong, and Aid Co only charged me more money to come back and repair one of the earliest (OF MANY) issues.
