Initial assessment was almost impossible to book but then, afterwards, there was NO FOLLOW-UP. I have the manual from the intake person but nothing else. 4 months later, after no action or response to our calls, we told the primary care doctor (who had made the referral to them) that we needed to find another home health company and went back to an agency we had had better luck with.
One star My experience with JourneyCare Hospice (405 Lake Zurich Rd, Barrington, IL 60010) was heartbreaking. The care my mother received in her final days was unacceptable. The night of Nov 4, 2025, I called multiple times about her worsening condition. The on-call nurse only told me to increase her morphine. The next morning (Nov 5), the day nurse arrived late, couldn’t operate the oxygen machines, and even placed a mask over my mother’s mouth with no oxygen running.
