I bought a Gemini XL in the summer of 1998 for our new house that at that time we were constructing. In the ensuing years with the exception of replacing the blower motor this wood burning heater/stove has not missed a lick! It has heated a 4000 sq.ft house with ease and the use of ceiling fans. I would not hesitate to buy another one if a I ever build another house or the oppurtunity arises that would need a wood burning stove from Applachian Stove in Asheville,NC

I'm glad that at least one reviewer was pleased with his purchase, but if you ever need service from these people look out. I shipped a gas log burner to them for service. I was told that I could receive refund for any parts purchased that did not solve the problem we were having with excess noise from the burner. They claimed to have replaced the igniter assembly, but it did not solve the problem and what they sent back was indistinguishable from what we sent, and no old parts were included. After multiple emails and phone ... read more

I had a fantastic experience. I busted the glass in my woodstove door last night when a log slid and I called Appalachian Stove first thing this morning- I left a voicemail and someone called me after they opened. They had my woodstove door fixed in less than 2 hours. I am incredibly grateful. They were very kind and very fast. Will definitely recommend them in the future.

I have tried to contact Appalachian wood stove so that I can buy some parts. They do not answer the phone, return calls or respond to e mail. I guess I will have to make my own replacement damper. I would not buy another product from this company.

Appalachian refuses to offer a replacement gas log set for the free standing model we own. Now we are forced to replace the entire stove. This is a distressing expense and nonsense/impractical.

Believe what you read here. Despite the bad reviews about this company, I tried doing business with them--mainly because I purchased a home with one of their fireplaces already in it. Marci told me to send her a photo and she'd call me back. After waiting 45 minutes I called again. On the phone she said, I'll call you back. Two hours later, no call. I called and a guy answered. I explained the situation and he said they were busy. I told him about the poor reviews his company had gotten online and he acted unconcerned. I the... read more

We ordered a blower from this company online(also known as "Gas and Wood Energy LLC") Our account was charged immediately, but it's been over a month and no sign of it yet, and we can't get in touch with them either! If this place is not actually a scam, it definitely has some shady business practices! Also, the only lady we can get on the phone is both unhelpful and rude at the same time.

A review of stove model 30CD by Appalachian: I bought this stove as an insert. Installation was a pain as the owner's manual was terribly vague. The stove never seemed to work properly as the catalysts would never kick in. After much trouble and many emails, I discovered that the housing for the catalysts was not sealed properly and had to buy furnace cement to seal it. The glass still turns black with soot though not as bad as before, and the catalysts do now work. A nice looking stove, but very poor construction--it doesn'... read more
