Waste of time and space. I don't know why this place exists or what their purpose is, as they don't seem to have any experience with mental health. My family member was sent there after they tried to kill me during a psychotic episode. They hospital they were originally sent to in New Orleans was full, so they were transferred here. I did not get to talk to any doctors, but instead got a social worker who said they couldn't see anything wrong and thought he was "perfect". My experience at Apollo was deeply traumatic and continues to affect my mental and physical health more than three weeks after discharge. I was sent directly from an ICU stay for blood clots and placed on a 72-hour PEC for depression and suicidal ideation. After the 72 hours, I was held an additional seven days without being evaluated by the assistant coroner, who based the decision solely on Apollo’s recommendation. Caring Techs that work with you and listen to your struggles if you are vulnerable and participate in groups!! Morning, Evening, and Overnight Techs were compassionate and supportive through shared experiences. I recently was admitted and was in this facility for six days day one I was met with bedbugs. Some of the staff are very rude. It is crazy but my only main issue was BEDBUGS. I don’t know how you can heal anxiety or depression when you’re being eaten up by bedbugs all night long
