I purchased a Smart Surge Protector from APC in March of 2022. It came with an app for iPhone, iPad and Mac to control the 120V outlets and USB ports. The Apps suddenly stopped working around October 20th, 2024. I contacted APC support and was told "the product was discontinued but still supported", but would NOT fix the App / software problem. I purchased an APC *** battery backup. We had a power surge which damaged our ******* modem, Eero mesh gateway router and video recording device. I filed a claim in July of 2022. I did get a response in Sept 2022 that was a release of settlement claim for $455.75. I signed the form but have never received the money.
Wrong unit sold. They won't take the product back. They are charging me a 15% restocking fee and shipping handling costs. **************** is awful. Don't buy anything from this company. Horrible experience.
The Equipment Protection Warranty on this company’s power surge protectors isn’t legitimate and is false advertising. If I could rate this company’s (or its parent company, ********* **********) customer service less than 1 star, I would. Lost $1300 in computer equipment after an electrical power surge made its way through APC’s surge protector and into my *** computer, monitor and printer, smoking each one. I filed a claim with Schneider Electric APC on 6/4/2019, Claim # 58182484. I was sent a long questionnaire on this claim to include sketches of the APC unit configuration and connected equipment. I was informed by my local computer company that my computer was damaged beyond repair due to a power surge. Per APC's request I returned the faulty unit to them for evaluation.
