Experience has been horrible. Refused to answer questions after initial in home sleep study delivered a CPAP machine to me with settings that simply did not work. Wouldn't allow staff to change those settings until I had an overnight study. While waiting for the study, I Googled how to change my own settings. Had ended up with exactly the same settings that an $8,000 overnight study did. This is where price transparency needs to come in for hospitals. Dr. Kurup had clearly made her diagnosis of me before we even met. At our first meet, she was frigid and dismissive of my issues, showing zero interest in the details that were most important to me. She simply ordered a sleep study and said lose weight. Her schedule is also too full to give timely care. It takes weeks, even months, to be able to have follow-ups with her. I have never felt less important to a caregiver than I did with her. I would advise seeking care elsewhere.
Caring physician Explains things well
I came in distraught with multiple interrelated health issues, prepared with data and insights, hoping for an intelligent conversation with an expert. What a disappointment. She proceeded to ask me questions directly from a questionnaire, leaving zero room for nuance and complexity. It’s rare for answers to be as simple as this questionnaire allowed.
