Antonio's Flying Pizza

About this business

You will enjoy the show at this family-oriented pizzeria. The booths are always packed, with all eyes turned to the playful chefs flinging pizza dough high into the air. This sight is guaranteed to entertain the kids for the entire visit. Obviously, pizza is the name of the game, but do not expect these pizza pies to be anything like those mediocre home-delivered pizzas. Both the pizzas and the eggplant parmigiana inspire many repeat visits.

Great italian food – The wife and I love this place. We like being able to sit back, relax and have time to ourselves when we are there. Good food and a nice evening atmosphere. Never had to wait for a table. All I have to do is concentrate on her when im there.

Best of the Best – As a native Houstonian who has traveled the world (including New York and Chicago for the yanks who think the only good Italian food can be found there) ... well, Antonio's can hold it's own with the best. Why? Well, one thing is Mr. Antonio came from NY a zilliion years ago and is a perfectionist chef... 2) he hand picks his own produce and meats 3) the cheese vendors can't stand him ... as he he makes and ages his own mozarella on premise... 4) all bread and hand tossed pizza dough made on site and ... g... read more

Good Food Sorry Service – I've been going to Antonio's for years because they do have good pizza and food. Unfortunately their service is pathetic. The hostess is rude and comes off as a snob. The owner is also about as bad. They've had many opportunities to prove otherwise but they're always the same - rude and snobby. They never apologize for their (hostess and/or waiter's) mistakes and always make it seem like it's the customer's fault when it's not. I know a few others who have gone there in the past with the same result... read more

You gotta love this place! – I grew up eating home-cooked Italien food. Antonio's is the real deal. Its a cozy, family-style, unpretentious kind of place that feels homey. Antonio's is like coming home to family to me. Bring an appetite, you're gonna need it. Plan to spend some time nursing a glass of wine and enjoying the awesome food. Trust me, you won't be able to make up your mind what to eat. Strike up a conversation with Antonio and listen to his stories of the old days--you might learn a thing or two. While you're at ... read more

I wish I could give NO stars – First, they are rude. Extremely rude. Second, they serve cheap French-style Vietnamese baguettes (available at Vietnamese bakeries for 10/$1) in place of authentic crusty Italian bread. Third, the waiters are CLUELESS and do not know anything about Italian cuisine much less the pronunciation of words. Fourth, a panini at Antonio's is not actually a panini and once again, is served on cheap Vietnamese baguettes. Fifth, their ingredients sit in their freezer for too long. Everything was stale or ... read more

Times are a changin' – The owner was rude along with the hostess. We sat next to the bar. A server made a mistake and we spent the rest of our meal listening to the owner berate the server. My daughter learned some 4 letter words that night. NOT A FAMILY RESTAURANT.....Why give your business to someone that doesn't even care about the comfort of his patrons? The owner and hostess/cashier made our party of 8 feel like they were doing us a favor by coming to eat at this establishment. There are plenty of great places to eat in... read more

Do Not go in a group – First time customer and will not return. Hostess very rude and lectured our group. We were clearly not welcome there even if we had called ahead. They will not seat groups or split bills. They would have been happy if we would have walked right back out and not given them any of our business. How can any restaurant afford to turn down paying customers in today's economy and multiple venue choices?!!! They were not busy even during lunch hr. Could that be a sign?
