Dr. Stern is the worst physician I've ever seen. I came in for a simple issue, completely unrelated to my weight. After examining me and going over my issue, she abruptly asks if I was molested as a child. After staring at her, confused, for a few minutes I asked why she was asking that. She then goes on to explain that I must be overweight to make myself "so undesirable so I wouldn't be molested again." Despite her absurd beliefs, fat does not make someone ugly or undesirable. Bill for new patient visit (CPT code 99204) with my insurance was $411.09 (after insurance). My PPO insurance was billed for $500. I do have a high deductible plan, but absolutely nothing about this visit was worth that insane amount of money billed. I felt others should know what they might get charged for initial visit.
