Ankeny Diner is okay. They have the cheapest Sunday brunch in town, buy you often get what you pay for. Their brunch is not the freshest, but it is ~$7 including the drink. The other meals are typical diner foods, burgers, fries, etc. Shakes are fresh and good!
From the time we were seated it took an hour to get our food. They brought the bacon and sausage for 2 of the meals out way before the rest of the food. Very dissatisfied.

If I ask my kids where they want to eat, their first choice is always Ankeny Diner. There is a great variety on the menu, even when you are looking for healthy options, you have several options to choose from, and everything is reasonably priced. The kids get a sundae for dessert on the kids menu. I have liked everything I've tried there so far. The staff is always friendly and courteous.
Usually good...but, be careful! Go early.
