I went in for a routine wellness check with Dr. Anjali Ranade. She seemed friendly and asked casual questions like how I was doing, and I briefly mentioned a few general things — nothing serious or requiring diagnosis or treatment. I was surprised to later receive a bill for both a preventive visit plus a diagnostic visit, even though no tests or medications were given. Dr. Ranade has been my primary care physician for about a year now, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great primary care doctor. She's very kind, thorough and takes the time to go over everything so you fully understand. My experience with her has been great.
Dr. Anjali has been one of the warmest and sweetest doctors I've known. Her compassion and genuine care for her patients are evident in every interaction, and she goes above and beyond to make you feel heard and understood. She fixed an illness I've had for a while within a couple of days. So glad I found a primary care physician who is so genuinely nice and takes her time with you. Her messages on the app from blood work results etc are very reassuring and she explains all the results in detail which I truly appreciate that she takes the time to do this.
I strongly advise against visiting this provider. Dr. Ranade did not demonstrate the level of knowledge or expertise I expected. When I asked questions about a health condition (which I prefer not to disclose), her response was not only insensitive but also unhelpful, offering no answers or actionable steps. Although I chose Dr. Ranade because she had the earliest available appointment, I will not make that mistake again. There are many other qualified providers within Hoag that I would recommend instead.
