Had an IUD placed yesterday for the first time. I'm 18 years old and this was my first time seeing Dr. Iyer. My appointment was for 2pm, they brought me back at 2:20, had me undress, and told me the doctor would be with me shortly. They told me I couldn't bring anyone into the room with me, even though it shouldn't have been a problem for me to bring my boyfriend back there. Personable and easy to talk to and ask questions. Amazing bedside manner.
Could you imagine a scenario where you visit a clinic with doubts about pregnancy, and a doctor informs you that you're pregnant based on someone else's sample, only to make you wait for two days and then reveal that you're not pregnant after testing your blood for HCG? Unfortunately, this was my experience, and I sincerely hope no other expectant woman has to go through this, as it can be emotionally devastating.
