I was given an oral quote of $220 to get my 10 lbs Chihuahua neutered. After the operation, they hand me a bill for $350!! They added everything they could do that, including blood work (which wasn't necessary), cutting nails etc. When I complained, they told me I should have asked for a written estimate, which I thought BY LAW every vet's office should provide to their customers. We have brought our puppy here since we got him, including all puppy vaccinations and twice for X-rays after eating foreign objects. Today, they were able to fit him in after he swallowed a pacifier on Saturday and a North Carolina Emergency vet said we would need exploratory surgery. Dr. Welch was able to avoid surgery by removing the object endoscopically, despite it taking over an hour and a half. My kitty Rascal had kidney failure, the staffs support during this ordeal was above and beyond. There was one vet tech that I owe my thanks and gratitude too, she was understanding, comforting, and will always be in my prayers for how she treated myself and rascal. If you're looking for a caring animal hospital this is the place to take your little loved ones. Kevin
i have encountered this office on many occasions when living with my family in stephens city. now i live in winchester and called recently to discuss care for one of my rats. i do not remember who i spoke to, but she was very attentive, respectful, informative and willing to go above and beyond to make sure my rat had an appointment if we ended up needing one. thanks to her advice, we were able to handle the problem at home, so an appointment was not necessary. however in the future if my rats need care i will be calling her... read more
Just a note of praises to all the staff here , who did everything in their power to save my sweet boy Harris , their compassion for the animals and their parents are amazing , and I had total trust in their care . Ours did not end well but it wasn't without a fight , thank you for all you did .
I am forever grateful for Animal Medical Center of Frederick Co and staff for the professional and loving care that I have always received . They have cared for my animals for over 10 years. They have nursed my Lexi and Striper(Cat furbabies) to health many times until it was time for them to journey across the "Rainbow Bridge" Lovingly they showed them the way and were compassionate shoulders for me to cry on when that time was inevitable..
