My brother was diagnosed and given a prognosis that was grim. He tried treatment and still passed after only six months vs the 18-24 months Dr. Drelichman led him to believe he had. I don't blame the doctor. What I am having trouble accepting is that once we knew he was dying, we NEVER once saw the doctor's face again. Not even just to shake my brother's hand and say a final good bye. I get it that you "get used to death as an oncologist" but isn't that just being a kind person? Very sad.
