Fellow fish heads, do yourself a favor and invest in yourself. Be a Hobbyist or a seasoned Taxidermist, Rick Krane has a gift for teaching and the patience to teach anyone. I found a brother in this man that I did not know I had. He and his wife made me feel like I was family while I was there. A TRULEE Awesome experience. Thank you Rick for teaching me there is more to painting a fish, than just using a airbrush.
Rick's talents are far beyond any professional fish taxidermist. I visited Rick last year and walked away with an open mind but unfathomable challenges to improve my work. I have hand carved bodies for fish no one locally would do, painted realistic eyes no one locally would attempt and detailed fish so realistic they all but swim!! I can't wait to go back and gain more quality insight on the path I have chosen!!! Rick is a "Fishhead Extraordinaire!!! Siskel and Ebert two thumbs up!!!! A true Master!!!
I've been at the taxidermy business since 1981 and love to learn! Rick has an approach to fish painting that makes total sense. I love the use of multiple mediums and have seen improvement in my work after viewing just a few of Rick's videos.
