One of the city's most popular barbecue joints actually began as a beer hall in 1958. The original owner, Angelo George, added the meat as a sideline to encourage customers to drink more. Now the former beer hall has been named one of the best places for barbeque by the Zagat Weekly and Texas Monthly. The walls are graced with typically Texan taxidermy (moose, buffalo and deer). My wife and I found Angelo's for the first time at lunch on Saturday in spite of the road construction. It was worth the search. We both had rib plates and had enough to bring some home. The smokehouse aroma will get your mouth watering before you get inside the building. Good ole Texas BBQ... I promise.

Thanks for finding us! And so glad you enjoyed! Tell all your friends!
Chopped brisket was pretty disappointing. Real greasy. Ribs and chicken were pretty decent. Sides were alright. 1st time was a better experience than the second time. Both times went at noon for lunch.
Nothing better than a warm Smokey rack of beef ribs from this great family ran restraunt. Jason and the family go above and beyond to make your experience a great one! All our employees at Outback Roofing love this place!
