UPDATED 10-06-2025 I got a 3rd bill. I called them back and this time the rep tried to convince me that although I did not have a Co-pay or deductible, I did have a patient responsibility. So UHC has a catch all column on their EOBs, "Coinsurance /Patient/Spend down" Then under it UHC has a code. The Code tells the provider which applies, in my case Code 2, Coinsurance. This review applies only to their billing practices. I have UHC Duel Care Complete as well as a Secondary insurance . On the face of my UHC card it states Zero Copay, Zero Deductible. After billing UHC AMG was sent their notice. In one column it says as a header "Coinsurance, Patient liability, Spend Down" it is an all inclusive list. Then below that is has "Reason Code 2" Coinsurance. The notice UHC sent them clearly says the remaining balance belongs to coinsurance. However they sent me the bills. I recently had Major Back Surgery at St Thomas Ascension Hospital Midtown. My anesthesiologist was a Young man of Kurdish decent. He was Great to have on my team. Positive Upbeat and Funny to start the process of preparing me for Surgery. I called him my Crazy Kurd. He eased my tension of going through this complicated back surgery. I have very good opinion of this group during my surgical experience... All were professionals and were very kind and concerned about me. Answering any questions I had. Kristen was especially nice and kind. All that were in pre op holding area was very good... God bless them all and thank them from myself and wife
